Communications Support Specialist

About the Role:

You will provide communications program support to a Federal government client.

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Develop, write, and edit communications materials including but not limited to presentation talking points, fact sheets, reports, infographics, scripts, concept boards, and press releases
  • Track stakeholder interactions and make recommendations for stakeholder engagement, outreach planning, and overall communications
  • Assist the team to prepare for and execute meetings, including developing agendas, overall logistics, note-taking, tracking actions, producing reports, and/or supporting next steps
  • Coordinate periodic web updates in conjunction with the team, developing a methodology for timely and efficient updates in sync with the client’s needs
  • Create understandable and compelling narratives so that decision makers can readily understand strategies and strategic options
  • Conduct work with integrity and display sensitivity to working in a high stakes, high pressure organization and decision making environment
  • Drive tasks and deliverables from start to finish with highest quality, on-time and within number of hours assigned
  • Possess a keen eye for cutting-edge imagery, layout, typography, and color

Location:

You will work as part of a dynamic team remotely.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1+ years of relevant, professional experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment by communicating effectively
  • Receptive to all forms of feedback from clients and colleagues, and proactive to make changes
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrates an unflappable attitude even when faced with changes or adversity
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Ability to learn fast and work with all types of personalities
  • Brings composure and organization to chaos
  • Capacity to self-educate on a variety of topics
  • US citizenship or permanent resident and the ability to pass public trust clearance or suitability

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Previous experience in Federal government consulting
  • Experience creating graphic content (e.g., slick sheets, webinars, conference handouts, direct mailings, PowerPoint, etc.)
