Position Summary:

Bristol Bay Campus is looking for adjunct faculty/part-time instructors.

Duties:

100Duties include instructing, advising, and assessing students in the related subject matter and developing a course outline, syllabus, teaching materials, and tests as needed. Bristol Bay Campus is looking for temporary adjunct instructors. Adjunct positions are on a semester-by-semester contract basis. Successful acceptance into the adjunct pool does not guarantee an offer of a contract. Employment is dependent on UAF course approval. Candidates will be evaluated on the suitability of their academic preparation, past teaching experience and potential for providing high-quality instruction to undergraduate students. Classes may be taught in person, online or via audio conference. Prospective candidates will possess the knowledge, experience, and expertise in a subject or activity including, but not limited to Accounting, Applied Art, Applied Business, Computer Information and Office Systems, Early Childhood Education, Health, Mathematics, Rural Development, Rural Human Services, Science, Social Work, and Welding. Salary is based on the number of previous semesters teaching within the University of Alaska.Essential

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Demonstrated experience and expertise in the subject is required. Candidates will be evaluated on suitability of their academic preparation, past teaching experience, and potential for providing high-quality instruction to undergraduate students.

Preferred Experience & Education:
Expertise and experience relevant to the effective teaching of the specific subject that the candidate is being hired for. Masters degree in the subject area preferred.

Required Experience & Education:

Academic Disciplines: Bachelor's degree or higher with teaching experience in the appropriate area.

Vocational Disciplines: Bachelor’s degree or field related experience sufficient to perform teaching assignment required w/demonstrated experience and expertise in the subject required.



Salary Information:

This is a part-time, adjunct represented temporary position. New hires will be placed on the adjunct salary schedule as outlined in the UNAD CBA, based on education and experience.
