Job Description (Project Director, 3 year fixed term contract)

Working as a key leader of the International Project Delivery team executing the design, engineering, manufacturing, procurement and supply of ~250 wind turbine generators for one of the world's largest projects, the Project Director is responsible for:

  • Leading the project team's activities for the wind project in order to safely deliver, install and commission ~250 wind turbines on schedule and within budget.
  • Manage customer relationship and act as focal point for the escalation of project issues and roadblocks
  • Support the project delivery according to business and contract commitments
  • Ensure the coherence of PM reporting to leadership
  • Contribute proactively to the safety culture of the project

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage contract and customer relationship
  • Represents organisation as the leader of the project team with the customer and its representatives
  • Manage project deliveries and guarantee the customer reception and approval
  • Manage change/variation orders when needed
  • Deliver communications with customer according to the contract provisions
    Coordinates project team and support them when needed
  • Mentor project team
  • Support Project Managers when needed for covering any project issue
  • Assist project team in managing customer and contract
    Monitor and report project results
  • Take responsibility over the entire project
  • Ensure key project deliverables are monitored for timely submission
  • Follow-up projects results supporting on risk identification and management
  • Executive reporting of project to management
    Facilitate escalation on project issues
  • Facilitate the coordination with internal stakeholders for removing roadblocks beyond the project management team capabilities
  • Participate in action plans definition when needed
    Coordinate project team
  • Establish and conduct project management team meetings covering safety, planning, quality, risk management, forecasting and actions plans guaranteeing coordination among team members
  • Escalate roadblocks and deviations
  • Conduct workshops as required with project team

Qualification in relevant field

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as Project Director on major infrastructure projects , leading a team of Project Managers
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as Project Manager on large infrastructure projects
  • Experience in wind industry
  • Knowledge in people and project management methods and techniques, commercial management
  • Excellent IT skills including MS Office/Sharepoint
  • Excellent communication skills in English is essential, both verbally and written
